PHILLIPS MIDDLE SCHOOL AUDITORIUM

The Fort Dodge Fine Arts Association recently conducted a survey regarding the needs of area arts organizations, and received approximately 400 responses.  One of the immediate needs that was identified was the need for additional performance and rehearsal space in Fort Dodge.

 Fort Dodge Fine Arts approached Foutch Brothers, developers of the Phillips Luxury Apartment project, asking if it could use of the Phillips Middle School Auditorium.  These apartments are in the building that was originally Fort Dodge High School; later, North Junior High and then Phillips Middle School. The building is on the National Historic Register. An agreement was reached, stating that the Fort Dodge Fine Arts Association could have the use (at no charge) of the auditorium for 15 years.  The Fort Dodge Fine Arts Association would receive proceeds from this auditorium for 15 years. 

The Fort Dodge Fine Arts will collaborate with all performers, artists, speakers and organizations to provide a venue that will also bring exciting events to our community.  The sky is the limit!

 The Fort Dodge Fine Arts Association is in the process of restoring the auditorium so that it can be used and enjoyed by performers, artists and the local community.

The restoration of this historic auditorium will result in a total project cost of $150,000 (light and sound systems, stage floor, auditorium carpet, painting, curtains and restrooms).   To date (spring, 2021), the Fort Dodge Fine Arts Association has raised $48,000.   We are seeking your assistance for the project via a tax deductible donation.
