The Dance Connection

Becky Harfst, Director and Owner
Becky has been the owner and operator of TDC Webster City for twenty six years. She is the mother of Brady, Hannah and Max and wife of Kent. Becky began dancing at age five in Omaha, Nebraska, and studied with professional instructors at various schools across the country. After moving to Webster City in high school, she continued studying dance in Webster City, Fort Dodge and Ames, as well as owning her own studio in Eagle Grove. As a graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Liberal Arts, emphasizing in Dance and Child Development, she was active in the dance department and served asa vice-president and president of the Iowa State Dance Company, Orchesis. She was awarded the Anna R. Toman Award, which is an annual award presented to one dance student by the Iowa State Dance Faculty each year. After college, she toured professionally with dance Co’Motion Dance Company. In 1989, she opened The Dance Connection in Webster City. Since then, Becky and her students have won numerous awards at various competitions, including Best Choreography, High Score Performance awards, several Judges Choice awards and Team Spirit/Sportsmanship awards. Becky and Joa Rolffs were choreographers for a dance chosen to perform at Kidz Roc in Branson, MO, at the Clay Cooper Theatre this summer. It was quite an honor to watch her dancers perform beside other dancers from across the country. Along with owning her studio, Becky is the choreographer for the Webster City High School Show Choir for the fifth hear. She is also excited to be a part of 'Stage Door Productions’ Musical Theatre Triple Threat Workshop in Fort Dodge and is thrilled to meet and work with new faces and talents! She feels blessed to have a job that allows her to share her love of dance and to work with children of all ages. Becky is looking forward to her 27th year at TDC!!!
